We're Anna and Matt, a husband-and-wife team who have called Kirkwood home for 13 years.
We started out in hospitality. Anna baked professionally for years, and for ten summers we headed north to International Falls, Minnesota, to run the dining hall at Camp Kooch-i-Ching. Cooking for a camp full of hungry kids taught us that good food made with care brings people together.
These days we both work full-time in tech. Matt is a technical product owner and Anna is a scrum master. New Moon is how we're finding our way back to our roots: working for ourselves and making real things that bring people joy.
We decided to go for it on the night of a new moon, a time for fresh starts, new beginnings and setting intentions. The name stuck.
Why cookies? In tech speak, they're our "minimum viable product," the simplest version worth launching. They let us start small while we balance two full-time jobs and two little ones at home. Wood-fired pizza is on the horizon. For now, every cookie is made in small batches in our commissary kitchen with high-quality ingredients.
Our favorite part of market days is watching our cookies make someone's day. We're so grateful you're part of it.
